This pictures show the ongoing construction and give a very good idea of what it will look like when completed. They were taken during a Craft Fair held at the track, on April 29-30, 2000.
The pictures are intended to show what's going on. I included two shots of the Racing Museum because I thought a few people would be curious about that also. The Jockey House is in the backyard, behind the grandstand, accross from the building housing the mutuel windows (which used to be used for saddling, before the expansion of the backyard as the two dollar seats.) The Jockey House has also been referred to as the Jockey Club House. One of the unique features of the Spa is that the Jockies have to walk out from the Club House through the crowds to get to the Jockey House.
The Jockey House is being expanded out further; it already is moving into the walking path used by horses coming over from the Horse Haven and Oklahoma barns accross Union Avenue. The City's map of the Union Avenue Historic District is missing about one quarter of the buildings at the track, but you can clearly see the Jockey House on the Map. The gates aren't pictured.
